Computers

Oh, you're one of them.

For better or for worse, I've been playing with computers since around '90. Or maybe before, I'm not exactly sure. My first computer was a TI-99/4A given to my by my uncle. Sometime after that, my dad bought our first "modern" computer at home, a 386 DX 33 MHz... Gone a long way since then.

In Fall of '97, I was introduced to this "new" operating system by the members of the computer society of my highschool. I started using linux (Slackware) then, and my liking of Unix like OS has grown from there. These days, I primarily use Linux (Debian) or FreeBSD on my servers, and Windows 2000 on my desktops.

At one point or another, I've used (and administrated) Linux (Debian, Slackware, Mandrake, RedHat, Caldera, SuSe, Corel, Lindows), FreeBSD, and Windows 1.0 - XP - 2003.

Update time: since I last wrote this I've also adminned OpenBSD, HP-UX, and Solaris. Solaris is now my UNIX OS of choice, not that that's any surprise. I was unfortunate enough to be dubbed "HP-UX administrator" at work, and that was just painful.

Another update: I no longer use Windows on my desktops. Good riddance. The servers are all running Debian, OpenBSD, or Solaris.

I've had a webpage since around '96 or so (back when geocities started up...), although this version is the most "verbose" of them all. I'm just too lazy to keep the things updated I suppose.
