I graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering. Post-graduation, I've done additional coursework in operations research and decision analysis.
During my tenure, I was president of the Synton Amateur Radio Club, W9YH for a few years. I was also in ACM@UIUC, and skated with the Inline Insomniacs. Not to mention playing in the clarinet in the concert and summer bands while I was here. And I worked. A lot.
I attended high school at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thankfully, that's now over. In no particular order, I was:
-
Clarinet player in Marching and Concert Band
-
Editor in Chief of the Yearbook "X-Ray"
-
Newspaper Technical Editor of "BluePrint"
-
President Computer Society
-
Orchestra member in TX production of "Man of LaMancha"
-
Member of Amateur Radio Club - W8GYH.
I work or have worked at the following places at some point...
-
Research Programmar, University of Illinois, CITES, Production Systems Management Group
-
Consultant, Black Brothers Inc. - Worked with a team to do an engineering design analysis of the Black Brothers roller coater spreaders. Affiliated with senior design. Incorporated heavy use of CAD/CAE. (AutoDesk Inventor, ANSYS)
-
Unix System Administrator, Motorola Urbana Design Center
-
System Administrator, University of Illinois, Calculus and Mathematica
-
In the past, I have worked for the St. Xavier Computer Department doing Windows server and workstation support, networking, and lab setup. I also worked for the "Buckeye State Yearbook Workshop" for Jostens, and at the amusement park "King's Island".
I have played the clarinet since the 5th grade. I played in various concert, marching, and pep bands in 5th - 12th grades. After coming to UIUC, I continued to play in the concert and summer bands for my entire stay. However, I think the most enjoyable experience was playing in the Marching Band at highschool.
In addition to playing music, I also have a tendency to listen to it as well.
